You've created a Twitter, Facebook, Myspace for your business, as well as a LinkedIn account to promote your credentials and your business. Now what? It's easy to get frustrated with all of these social media sites at your finger tips.
It's best not to get too overwhelmed--baby steps, my friend! Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say! My suggestion would be to start utilizing Twitter to gain followers and to network. This will allow you to gain friends on your Facebook and Myspace pages, with more hits to your website. Commenting on your followers blogs or websites can help to build relationships with your followers, plus add more exposure for your business. I have made many friends on Twitter just by complimenting them on their websites.
Once you have friends on your Facebook page, create a Facebook Fan Page for your business and invite your friends to become fans. This is a perfect way to get your business more recognition! Having a Facebook Fan Page, you can also get a widget for your website or blog to advertise your fan page and show your fans.
With your LinkedIn page, you can add people as contacts through yuor personal e-mail address book, and once they have accepted you as a contact, then you can look on their contacts to see if there is anyone you know or would like to connect with. Joining groups is also key in making adequate contacts that are in your industry or that could be possible clients. You can post discussions on the group's message board, while promoting your website or blog. Be careful though--you don't want to make it seem like you're a spammer, advertising your services everyday. You can get kicked out of a group for being a spammer!
Once you have made your appropriate contacts on your Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and LinkedIn, the sky's the limit! Posting at least once a day on either of these sites is essential in acquiring followers and more hits to your site, which means more business for you. On my next blog, I will write about why blogging for your business is important to add an expert touch, while keeping your clients and future clients intrigued.
